Microblading also referred to as Micro strokes, diamond blading or eyebrow embroidery is a type of semi-permanent makeup technique applied without using a machine. Instead of a machine, a hand-held tool, similar to a pencil is used that replaceable, disposable blades comprised of many small needles are attached. The blade is up to three times thinner than some of the thinner needle choices for permanent makeup. The hand-held tool is not electric, and the hair strokes are drawn in by hand in the same way as we would use a pencil.
The pigment does not reach the depth of a regular tattoo and this is one of the reasons why microblading (if done correctly) will not last forever. It is designed to suit you and thus be open to adaption over time depending on how you like to look. We always use local numbing gel throughout the process.
Microblading can last from 12 -18 months un-retouched. However, it is crucial to have a touch up done 4-6 weeks after the first service. It is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment, therefore performing touch up will solidify the pigment. This is where additional hair strokes can be added to adjust the shape and colour can be corrected if needed. This can be called the “Perfecting Session”. The process takes about 2 hours to complete.
